W hen are you switching the heating on? Usually I’d have fired mine up from the start of October, however, two weeks in and I haven’t gone anywhere near the boiler for fear of a whacking bill. Instead I’m typing this in my cold back bedroom wearing my newly purchased Selk’bag — which for the uninitiated is a sleeping bag with arms and legs beloved by outdoorsy social media influencers. When the sun sets I’ll zip on the detachable padded booties and pull up the hood. Let’s hope I don’t need a wee.

I’m not having a style crisis (although I do look like the Michelin Man), in fact I’m right on trend. This autumn fashion has gone toasty, and I don’t just mean designer knitwear.
